Union Carbide raises div.
NZPA Sydney Union Carbide Australia and New Zealand, Ltd, the plastics and chemical group is raising its interim dividend from 6c to 7c a share (7 per cent) after group net profit rose 78 per cent to $Au5t4,487,000 in the halfyear to June 30. The profit was after providing $1,914,000 more for tax at $3,639,000, but $92,000 less for depreciation at $1,868,000. The directors attributed the improved performance to the 21 per cent increase in turnover at $79.3M.
