Fit to improve Oamaru record
If his Oamaru luck holds good Dictate will be a formidable adversary for the others in the final race on the programme there next Monday. He cleared maiden class there in June, and showed his fitness for the third leg of Monday’s T.A.B. treble in a solo sprint at Ricca rton yesterday. Galloping on the No. 7 grass, which had been firmed by a frost, Dictate
sprinted 1200 m in Imin 18.25, the last 600 m in 39.25. Debonaire and Major McCann brushed home from the 600 m in 39.85.
Debonaire is trained by Kevin Miller and makes a fresh start in the Glenmoa Maiden Stakes at Oamaru.
Debonaire’s hurdling stablemate, Denosera, yesterday ran 1400 m on the sand in Imin 33.25, the last 600 m in 40.25. He looks strong and bright for his engagement at Oamaru.
