Roydon Scott looks ready for Louisson

Roydon Scott and Lord Module, two of four five-year-olds in the field—the other two are Main Star and Timely Robin —should be the leading contenders for honours in the Louisson Handicap at Addington Raceway tomorrow.

Roydon Scott has been off the scene since January as a result of a leg injury. However, he has been in steady work for some months and showed the benefit of this when he was successful at the Addington trials last week and again on Wednesday. He still looks big and bright and should have improved immensely in the past week or so. Roydon Scott shares the back mark of 10m with Palestine and Majestic Charger and from the outside of this barrier, he should begin better than when stood among horses. Lord Module has been in work for several weeks after a brief let-up following a successful campaign in Sydney. He was not paraded at trials last week when the weather broke, but looked in great heart when exercised before the meeting started. He is one of the more exciting pacers in New Zealand and is sure to make his presence felt in this event.

Majestic Charger, at nine, is one of the oldest horses in the field, but he will not lose support because of that. He finished last term with three successive wins, one at Addington and two at Alexandra Park. He has always been regarded as one of the top handicappers in the country, but his career has

been interrupted by soreness.

Reports from Southland suggest that Majestic Charger is well forward. Even close to his best, he would be a class above many in this race and it will be surprising if he fails to get into the finish. Twelve months ago the Lauriston trainer, Alistair Kerslake, produced In or Out to win this race at long

odds. His representative tomorrow will be the speedy Main Star, which will not be at any fancy price. He had his problems last term, and if these are overcome, he should give the majority of his rivals a beating. Timely Robin, too, will be a chance, as will another southerner in Trevira, Palestine and Lancia, while there will be solid support for Bad Luck, which looks close to his peak. He advanced in favour as a result of his

grand showing at recent trials.

Locarno, Alec Peterson and In to View form a likely trio in the second leg, the Ribbonwood Handicap, a race in which Allspice, Port View and Uncle Andrew will have to be considered.
