The former Canterbury and New Zealand medium-fast bowler, David Trist, looks well pleased with the Alf Postles Memorial Trophy awarded to him as the 1978-79 “New Zealand Coach of the Year.” Trist, the first Canterbury coach to win the honour, has held a district-grade, advanced coaching certificate for many years. In December he will travel to Tasmania as coach of the New Zealand secondary schoolboys cricket team.
