Rare bike not found
Mr Julian Doughty has heard no more of his rare $lO,OOO Harley Davidson
“Sportster” motor-cycle which was stolen in Christchurch on Sunday morning.
He has asked airline, railway and ferry services to watch out for the black-and-chrome IOOOcc machine, registration number KZOB4, but it had not been seen by late last, evening. There ' was ' only one “Sportster” in Christchurch before Mr Doughty arrived from Melbourne to tour New Zealand, and he believes that the thief or thieves would find his machine very hard to "unload.”
"I just hope they have not dumped it somewhere,” said Mr Doughty. If it is not recovered, he will be left without any transport, and will also forfeit the $3OOO bond he had to pay on the motorcycle to bring it into New Zealand.
