Brawl at disco
A disco debacle developed at a dance at .. _ n c » it 11 •. „ the R.S.A. Hall in Tennyson Street, Beckenham, on
Saturday evening, resulting in the arrest of 11 persons on charges of using obscene language, disorderly behaviour, and obstructing the police. The police were called to the hall by the organisers of the function who found they could not
cope with a fight which had broken out. When the police arrived arreste£ f on e e youth but others soon j oined in
the fray with the result that additional police were called to deal with the brawl. The crowd began shouting obscenities and tried to prevent the police from taking the arrested youth in custody, and so 10 additional arrests were made.
