Sale earlier

Special Correspondent Wanganui The third annual Wanganui Bloodstock sale will be held at the Wanganui racecourse on Thursday, October 18, this year, the auctioneers, the Farmers’ Co-oper-ative Organisation Society of New Zealand, have announced. Entries are being called for yearlings, two-year-olds, raced and unraced gallopers and broodmares. The sale is being held about six weeks earlier than last year, in order to boost the' sales of broodmares, a spokesman for the auctioneers Mr Peter O’Shannasy said. The late November date used last year was too late for mares sold at the sale to be sent to a stallion, he said.
