P.D.L. strike

Workers at the Addington factory of P.D.L. Industries, Ltd, will enter the fifth day of a strike today, over the dismissal of an Engineers’ Union delegate.

The members of the union at the factory met yesterday and decided to stay on strike. They will meet again on July 17. The secretary of the Canterbury branch of the union (Mr R. J. Todd) said that talks under the chairmanship of a South Island mediator (Mr M. Teen) had not settled the dispute.
