Steamshack head south
The Christchurch group Steamshack will head south to Ashburton this week-end to play at the Ashburton Hotel for two nights, on July 13 and 14. The following week they will play at the Terminus Hotel in Timaru, on July 19, 20, and 21. Them changes Van Morrison has completed an international deal with Phonogram Records, excluding America, and his first album is expected in Septmeber. Recording has been completed, and Morrison is at present mixing the album. The deal is believed to extend to five albums. Morrison’s deal for America is still' being negotiated. Rock back the clock A new record club is being organised by Lightining Records to try to cater for the booming interest in old, rare, and apparently unobtainable, records. The Golden Oldies Club of Great Britain, P.O. Box 142, London, El 7, 4JW, aims to provide a service for rock ‘n’ roll fans plus others interested in the more rare items of rock history.
