Ain’t that a sham
Sham 69 have split up after a final performance at Glasgow’s Apollo Theatre, in which former Sex Pistols’ Steve Jones and Paul Cook made guest appearances. The evening marked Jimmy Pursey’s transition from one band to another, because of his reported plans to link up with Cook and Jones. Record companies are already bidding feverishly for the recording rights.
Reports of a SNZI.IM offer from Virgin, with an even higher offer being made by Polydor, Pursey’s current label with Sham, have been denied by Sham manager, Tony Gordon.
