New life members
Four persons, including two women, were elected life members at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club last evening. The new female life members are Mesdames L. M. Hoy and K. Saunders, the widows of two former presidents of the club. The honour was also bestowed on the retiring president, Mr E. T. McDermott, and Mr D. C. Parker, who joined the staff of the three Christchurch-based trotting clubs in 1938 and retired as secretary-manager this year.
