Socred offers reward
The Social Credit Political League has offered a reward to persons supplying information of a price decrease in' a consumer item since February 1.
) Social' Credit has placed !an advertisement in “The |Press,” offering a reward of I $lO to the first five persons iwho provide evidence, by 14.30 p.m. on June 21, of a {drop in price.
[ The advertisement was iplaced to draw the public’s [attention to the Budget, which would be presented on June 21, said the president of the Sydenham branch of the league (Mr D. J. Gates).
Six persons had already responded to the advertisements, supplying information about items such as combs and ornamental hairclips. Mr Gates said.
"Those items are not going to make much difference to the economy,” he said.
Social Credit hoped that the advertisement would encourage people to be aware of the economy and inflation, and see what the Budget meant to them, Mr Gates said.
