Fund-raising scheme
PA Wellington New Zealand children have the opportunity of participating in a fundraising scheme that, it is hoped, will raise SIM for underprivileged children throughout the world. Sir Edmund Hillary has launched the campaign, which will be known as the World Book Children of the Year Quest, for the International Year of the Child. It is open to all children up tu 16 years of age, and has been organised by the United Nations Associations of-New Zealand and the World Bookers.
Each entrant, who will be chosen by the World Bookers, will have a sponsor who will be responsible for the supervision of all fund-raising activities Fund-raising kits will be supplied to show methods of raising money. As certain amounts of money are raised each child will receive selected prizes, which include a set of encyclopaedias and four holiday packages. When the quest closes, at the end of December, the child who has raised the biggest amount of money will receive a $lOOO educational grant.
