Grenade kills 12
Twelve people have been killed and 50 others wounded when a handgrenade exploded in a movie theatre in southern Thailand. The incident occurred when about 400 people were watching a film in the Or Lola theatre in Betong district of Yala province, 800 km south of Bangkok. The police believed the attack could have been connected with an extortion racket, as the theatre’s owner had earlier ignored a demand to pay - “protection money.” —Bangkok.
