Marsden Point refinery
Sir, — Your editorial on the proposed extensions to the Marsden Point oil refinery omitted any reference to the present high lead levels of New Zealand-pro-duced high octane petrol. The Clean Air Society, in its efforts to persuade the Government to order the reduction of lead levels in petrol, has received wide support from various influential organisations and the public. We hope that this concern of so many people, will influence those who control petrol standards, to ensure that the new refining arrangements are built with the aim of reducing the lead levels in our petrol to the lowest possible limits. — Yours, etc., P. V. NEARY, President,
