Wharenui has seven to tour

When the New Zealand under--19 water polo team plays in California next month, it might have a full team of players from one club in the water.

The team of 12 for the 18-day tour includes eight players from Canterbury, and all except one of these, the capain, John Davie, are from Wharenui. The other four players in the team to be managed by Mr Alan Trotter (Rotorua) and coached by Mr Lindsay Scott (Christchurch), are from Wellington. The only players new to international representation are Stuart Watson (Wellington) and Stephen Ward (Canterbury). Ward was chosen for the team to Queensland in February but did not make the trip. The full team is:—

Davie (captain), John Koens, Chris Lewis, Derek and Damian Ferigo, Ward, John Gallagher, Steven Wakefield (Canterbury), Stephen Williams, Chris Jarvis, Watson, Wayne Mills (Wellington).
