Pragmatic prelate
Bishop Abel Muzorewa, widely favoured to win next month’s Rhodesian General Election, has said he would follow a pragmatic economic policy, maintaining close ties with South Africa. Bishop Muzorewa, leader of the United African National Council said in an interview on Rhodesian television that his country would follow the example of Malawi, whose economic development has been helped by close trade ties with South Africa. “I hope no leader of this country would be too emotional to disregard the realities of our economic relations with South Africa,” he said. — Salisbury.
