N.Z. wins croquet
PA Auckland New Zealand won the international doubles croquet competition which was played at the Mount Hobson club before the national championships got under way yesterday. Bob Jackson and Paul Skinley soundly defeated the Great Britain pair of William Prichard and David Openshaw 26-2. Skinley opened with a fine nine-point break and when Great Britain failed with the lift shot, Jackson completed a perfect round with a triple and OpenshtfTffip beaten fellow Murray and Andrew Hope 26-0 to reach the final, while Jackson and Skinley disposed of fellow New Zealanders John Prince and Alan Anderson.
