D Town Planning PUBLIC MEETINGS TO DISCUSS THE REVIEW OF THE DISTRICT PLANNING SCHEME EVERY Council is required by the Town and Country Planning Act to introduce and operate a district planning scheme. Every five years this scheme has to be reviewed. The Waimairi County District Planning Scheme is due for its first review in late 1979. As part of this review it is hoped that PUBLIC DISCUSSION AND INVOLVEMENT will contribute a great deal towards the new district planning scheme. The Council is therefore at this stage inviting COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS AND SUBMISSIONS on the existing district planning scheme. There will be an opportunity for further comment once a "statement of planning objectives” is published late in 1979. It is easy and not always very effective to criticise a district planning scheme after it has been published. The Council is offering the opportunity for your involvement In the early stages of the review. It is hoped that vou will take advantage of it. Meetings have been arranged on the following dates: TUESDAY. FEBRUARY 27 (8.15 p.m.)—MIDDLETON RIDING. Addington Scout Hall.
