Union ballots

Sir, — I strongly object to my union’s funds being wasted in the taking of a compulsory ballot on the preference clause issue. This unnecessary farce is to be foisted on us solely to save face for our Prime Minister who, even now, will not admit he has been shown to

be wrong yet again. I have heard that Mr Muldoon spent his weeks at Hadfields Beach working on the solution to New Zealand’s problems. I suggest he sign it, and let his colleagues get on with the job of trying to find a new leader. — Yours, etc., JOHN BALNEAVES. February 1, 1979.
