Special correspondent Palmerston North
Noble Mistress galloped in great style for a stayer when she completed her preparation for the W.R.C. Handicap at Awapuni yesterday. Guided Missile and Wolf Man also recorded igood trials, along with the Carterton candidate, La Mer. Noble Mistress ended an easy round by sprinting : brilliantly over 600 m on the plough in 36s — by far the fastest of the morning. Wolfman shaded the Ashhurst winner, All Gold, at the end of a fast 1000 m in Imin 3s. the last 600 m in
38.45. Both hold strong claims in the , Telford’s Handicap and Wolfman is so well just now that his wide draw might not stop him from winning, especially ' after his bold second on Cup day. ■ Guided Missile shaded! Phar Fox at the end of I 1000 m in Imin 3.65; the last 600 m in 39.65. Guided Missile has thrived and might) test Prancer and Glenayr ini the City Handicap. Caucus completed his trial! for the Trentham Stakes by! (running an attractive 1400 m in Imin 31s. He had no luck: (in the Derby and should bei i close this time.
