Aust, test team named
NZPA Sydney Australia's test selectors have sacked the vice-captain, John Maclean and his Queensland team-mate Geoff Dyrnock, from the defeated fourth test team in the line-up announced yesterday to play England In the fifth test starting in Adelaide on January 27.
The two replacements are the 25-year-old Western Australian wicketkeeper. Kevin Wright, for Maclean, and the 27-year-old Queensland all-rounder, Phil Carlson for Dyrnock.
Carlson has been recalled to the team after his shock omission after the first two tests as twelfth man.
The new vice-captain is the Western Australian, Kim Hughes. The team is: Graham Yallop (captain, Victoria), Kim Hughes (vice-captain, Western Australia/, Allan Border (New South Wales:. Phil Carlson (Queensland), Rick Darling (South Australia), Jim Higgs (Victoria), Rodney Hogg (South Australia), Alan Hurst (Victoria). Peter Toohey iNew South Wales). Graeme Wood (Western Australia), Kevin Wright (Western Australia), Bruce Yardley (Western Australia).
