Homicide inquiry
PA Invercargill The police are treating as homicide the death of a young man by gunshot wounds at Gore early yesterday morning. A 22 calibre semi-auto-matic rifle was found by the body of Michael John Burnaby Curtis, at 7.30
a.m. The victim is believed to be from Geraldine. He was in his early twenties. The police confirmed that the dead man’s fiancee was abducted from the scene of the shooting and taken to Tapanui. Last evening she was under sedation in Tapanui Hospital.
