About 900 interviews in 11 the Burwood-Windsor area); to test recreation needs have led the Waimairi County 1 Council to consider a com- 1 munity facility there for in- < door sports and cultural and educational activities. An equal number of men j and women were inter- i viewed. Half were aged be- i tween 26 and 45. The survey showed that 1
more than 40 per cent were 'keen . swimmers. Fishing, golf, netball, tennis and soccer were the most popular outdoor sports. Squash was the most popular indoor sport. Billiards, pool, table tennis, “keep fit,” and badminton were high on the list. Hobbies were less popular than active sports, but were very wide-ranging.
