Electrician killed
A Christchurch Drainage Board electrician died from an electric shock when he tried to repair a vacuum cleaner at the Bromley sewerage plant yesterday morning. He was Royce Desmond Giles, aged 42, of 36 Truman Road. Bryndwr.
Mr Giles had been working in the electrical workshop at the plant about 9 a.m., said the board’s chief engineer (Mr P. J. McWilliam). "A staff member later found him dead. The appliance was lying across his body,” Mr McWilliam said.
