Cricket test draw
The first cricket test between India and the West Indies ended [ in a tame draw early this morn-' ing 'New Zealand time). At' stumps India had rattled on 224 for the loss of only tw o wickets, after making 424 in its first innings. The West Indies earlier in the day had ended their first innings! at 493, taking a 69 run lead.:
i,but making a result virtually in I; possible. .The West Indies captain, Aivi I Kaillcharran, hit 187 runs. h. II highest test score, and Dere , Parry hit 55. Chandrasekhar too : I five for 116. In India’s second innings, Sun 'I Gavaskar lashed out for 74 quit > I runs, and at Chetaj Chauha 3 was 75 not Out.
