Help with pool sought
Members of Waimairi County’s Harewood riding and staff will hold further discussions with the Breens Road Intermediate School committee about possible county help with paying for a heated, covered swimming pool in the school grounds, estimated to cost $250,000. This was recommended at last evening’s meeting of the county’s works, reserves, and traffic committee. The County Engineer (Mr A. J. W. Lamb) said that if such.a pool were to be built, at the school, there would; be no need for a proposed! pool at the Bishopdale Com-, munity Centre. The pool would be avail-! able to the public at agreed! times during the week and at; week-ends, the school com-; mittee said.
