Media race on again
The time for the Motukarara Trotting Association’s Trophy day is here again and this annual event will be held at Motukarara on Sunday. In keeping with previous years there will again be a Media Race where various members of the local news media will drive. This year the race will start at 1 p.m. and will be run on the grass track, over 2400 m. The drivers, with the horses they will drive are: Morris Shanahan (Nevaway), Ron Dalzell (Cookie Bear), Reon Murtha (Polfry), Rodney Bryant (Tempting Lass), Dave McCarthy (Waitaki Power), lan Mac (Mighty Spry), Dave Cannan (Pat Phoenix) and Shelley Caldwell (Adrienne El). Each driver will be sponsored and the proceeds will be presented to the Riding for the Disabled Association. The barrier draws for the Media Race will be announced this morning on Radio Avon's racing programme.
