Radio Avon pays 7.5c
I'he net tax-paid profit of Radio Avon, Ltd, rose 30 per cent to about $110,500 in the six months to September 30, after a 27 per cent increase in revenue to about $770,000, the directors announced yesterday. It was alter providing $20,500 more for taxation at $90,500. Sales are now more evenly spread throughout the year and not following the pattern of previous years when the major portion of the company’s revenue was earned in the second half of the financial year, they say. The directors have declared an interim dividend of 15 per cent (7|c for each 50c share) to be paid on November 9. Of this interim dividend 6.5 c is to be paid out of capital reserves and will be tax-free. The corresponding interim dividends last year totalled 17 per cent (8.5 c a share).
