Dumping spoil in Eyre county

Sir, — I wish to ask about the position in the Eyre County regarding dumping of waste material on roadside in Island Road. The council seems to be breaking its own by-law. It has got to such a state that

soil is running onto the tarseal and burying my boundary fence. I have brought this matter to some Councillors’ notice but have had no results as material is still being dumped. It seems ridiculous to me when there is a county reserve 100 yards away that requires filling. It is also a waste of ratepayers’ money if this material is to be reloaded and moved somewhere else. — Yours, etc., E. C. STORER. October 16, 1978. (The Eyre County Clerk (Mr M. S. Craighead) replies that Mr Storer should write to the council about his complaint, and the situation would be explained to him.).
