“Public tolerance” of homosexuality
Sir, — Robert Holmes talks about “sodomy,” which is a biblical term frequently misused to mean homosexual behaviour. In the Bible the sin of Sodom was greed and laziness; homosexuality was not mentioned in connection with that city. Mr Holmes would do better to fight the sins of greed, laziness, violence, and prejudice which so pervert our society, rather than deny any group of human beings the right to love as they wish. What is wrong with the world when love is condemned, yet these real perversions are left untouched —Yours, etc., J. CHETWYND. October 20, 1978.
