Crushed girl’s condition worse
A Bryndwr child who was severely injured when a bulldozer crushed her on Wednesday, is now in a poor condition.
Ursula Howley, aged three, of 16 HoUyford Avenue, was sleeping in a pushchair when a bulldozer covering rubbish at the Waimairi tip reversed over her. She had been in a serious condition in the intensive care unit at Christchurch
Hospital, but her condition deteriorated on Thursday evening. The Christchurch schoolteacher who fell hundreds of metres down an icy slope at Mount Hutt last week-end has been transferred from the intensive care unit.
Miss Julie Standish, of 70 Purchas Street, St Albans, is still on the seriously ill list, however. She suffered severe head injuries and a fractured pelvis in the accident.
