Rugby clubs angry

North Canterbury Rugby clubs are angry about the number of tickets the Canterbury Rugby Union has allocated them for. the All Blacks match against Australia at Christchurch on August 26. The North Canterbury Rugby sub-union had been promised 346 seats in the covered stand but had received only 80, the subunibn’s president (Mr P. Robinson) told the halfyearly meeting of North Canterbury delegates in Rangiora last evening. Angered by the allocation, the delegates will complain to the Canterbury Rugby Union today. They say that unless they get more seats in the covered stand they will do anything they can to em-

barrass the Canterbury Rugby Union. The delegates are also angry about the delay in receiving the allocation. The secretary of the subunion (Mr W. J. Inglis) said that he had been promised the tickets several times, but each time delivery had been delayed. Describing the subunion’s allocations as paltry, Mr Robinson said the Canterbury Rugby Union’s organisation of allocating tickets had been '‘shambolic.”

Delegates also complained that rugby unions outside Canterbury had been given priority when it catne to the allocation. Others demanded that the Canterbury Rugby Union give up part of its allocation.
