NZPA special correspondent Rockhampton The Auckland secondrower, Gary Prohcn. will front up today for has eleventh appearance in 12 games on the New Zealand rugby league team tour of Anstralia and Papua New Guinea. He will be at loose forward when the Kiwis play Central Queensland tonight. There has been considerable joking among the team as to who is the iron man. Chris Jordan was the frontrunner up till he missed the game against North Coast and then was only a reserve against Toowoomba last Sunday. jordan has featured in nine games, the same as Olsen Filipgina, who will be paired in the centres tonight. Two other players, Glenn Taylor and Tony Coll, will be making their ninth appearances of the tour tonight.
The Kiwi coach, Mr Ro. Ackland, has been able t deliberately mix his team. “I wanted to mix up the team so as to rest as many players from the first test as possible and still give everyone a show of making the second-test team,” said Mr Ackland. The team will be captained for the second successive game by the half-back, Shane Varley. It has not yet been decided whether Jordan or Nick Wright will take the kicks at goal. Wright is the leading ppints-scorer on tour, with 52 points from four tries and 20 goals, while Jordan has 32 points, all from goals. The New Zealand team to play Central Queensland is: N. Wright. Warren Winter. O. Filipaina, C. Jordan, T. Pepuleai, Steve McGregor. S. Varley, Whetu Henry. Glenn Taylor. John Wright. A, Coll, lan Bell, G. Prohm.
