Brierley had 41 per cent
PA Wellington Brierley Investments, Ltd, controls 41 per cent of the capital of both Amoil NZ, Ltd, and Mining and Property Investments, Ltd. This was announced at the annual meetings of both companies by the chairmen of Amoil (Mr R. A. Brierley) and of Mining and Property Investments, (Mr T. J. N. Beyer). The takeover offers remain open until the end of July. Neither offer was conditional on full acceptance, although Brierley “would like to see it as a tidying up operation to help cut administrative costs.”
If 90 per cent of shareholders agree to the takeover terms, Brierleys will move to compulsorily acquire the remainder.
