Hollander to lead colts trial team

Five Canterbury players have been chosen to take part in the New Zealand colts rugby trials in Christchurch next Tuesday. One of them, Andy Hollander, a Lincoln College utility forward, will captain il Possibles from the No. 8 position. John Collinson (Christchurch) is at centre in the same team, while the Probables contain Ross Gibson (New Brighton), a wing, and Neil Porter (Christchurch), at prop. Kerry Mitchell (Shirlejr. lock) is a reserve forward. The Canterbury selectors nominated 12 players, but with only two teams being chosen, the choice of five from Christchurch is reasonable.

The Probables back-line includes Ken Taylor (Hawke's Bay), Charles ( i..g (North Auckland), Len Holmes (formerly of Poverty Bay, now in Wellington), and Rob Richan (Otago), who have played for their provinces. Opposing them, with Collinson. will be Fred Woodman and Dennis Matene (both North Auckland), who played splendidly for New Zealand Maoris recently, and David Wilson, a fleet-footed wing who scored three tries

for Mid-Canterbury against Canterbury Country. The teams are:— Possibles.— P. Dailey (Hawke’s Bay); Woodman, Collinson, Wilson; B. Megson (Auckland), Matene: I.
