N.Z. driver in lead

The Melbourne-based Ford Falcon driver, Jim Richards, has retained his lead in the Australian sports sedan championships, >n spite of losing the fourth round of the series at Sandown yesterday..

A New Zealander. Richards took second place over-all in yesterday’s series round, after winning the first leg of the two leg event in very wintery ccA ditions.

The Corvair driver, Alan Grice Of New South Wales, was second to Richards in leg one. but after nosing his car to the lead from the start of leg two, he held off a determined challenge to win from Richards.

The second-leg. win gave Grice the over-ail first placing, and the nine points added to his championships tally draws him to Within six points of Richards with three rounds of the series to go.
