Protests by refugees

Sir, ■ — In reply to the letters of T. Jackson, Roger James, L. Newton, let me state that all my life I have decried dictatorships of all hues. I have as little liking of a Pinochet as I do of a Hua, Tito or Brezhnev, not to mention Amin. Unlike L. Newton, I believe the countries under the heel of these dictators, as well as many others, are certainly in need of investigation by a human rights commission of the United Nations. I am willing to withhold judgment on Chile until the United Nations makes its findings known. The fact that China and the U.S.S.R. have not been investigated may simply prove that “might still makes right,” alas’ — Yours, etc., S. WESTERMANN. June 21, 1978.
