Punishment for instant discipline
PA Ashburton | An Allenton senior reserve player in the Ashburton rugby competition, Albie 'Meager, was ordered off on Saturday for punching. However his punch was directed not at one of the opposition but at one of his own men. The incident followed a misunderstanding between two players behind the Allenton goal-line, which resulted in a try to Technical. Obviously incensed. Meager handed out his punishment. The referee spotted the incident and ordered Meager from thd* field. He was suspended by the Mid-Canterbury Rugby Union’s judicial committee up Ito and including July 7.
