New bar at theatre

The installation of bar facilities at the Court Theatre is expected to be completed later this month. The bar will open from 7.30 p.m. before evening performances, during the interval, and for an hour after the theatre entertainment. Spirits, ales, and a red and a white wine will be served. The theatre manager (Mr C. Mangin) said the Court Theatre was following the example of other community theatres in New Zealand, and most English theatres, in providing bar facilities. He said the idea was to make an evening out at the theatre more pleeasant for regular patrons and, in the long run. to encourage greater patronage. The $30,000 cost of building the bar and toilets has been financed by the Court Theatre appeal.
