Niven sells division
PA Auckland Niven Industries, Ltd, the Auckland-based engineering group, has sold its refrigeration and air conditioning division to A. and T. Burt, Ltd, engineers and merchants.
For more than 40 years in New Zealand, Niven has marketed and serviced air conditioning equipment, manufactured by York BorgWarner, of the United States. This will continue to be sold. , , All staff formerly with the refrigeration and air conditioning division of Niven have become employees of A. and T. Burt, Ltd. A spokesman for A. and T. Burt said that new service contracts were being negotiated in his company’s name as each fell due for renewal. The general manager of Niven Industries (Mr H. A. Pugh) said the division had been sold to A. and T. Burt as “a further step in Niven’s corporate policy of concentrating the group’s efforts into fewer mainstream activities.”
