Health-plan expert dead
PA Whangarei Professor Ralph H. Brookes, a leader in health services reorganisation, died in Whangarei on Friday. He was 53. He was in Northland, on loan from Victoria University, to advise the Northland Health Services Advisory Committee, which is laying foundations for a pilot scheme of reorganised health services which may set a pattern for the rest of New Zealand. Professor Brookes served on several Royal Commissions and had a three-year term on the Wellington City Council.
