“Solo” sold overseas
NZPA Sydney. The New Zealand-Aus-tralian feature film, “Solo,” has been sold to five European countries and the United States. The co-producer and director of the film, Tony Williams, said in Sydney that the sales represented about half the $250,000 budget of the film.
Mr Williams said a New York company, Cinema Shares International, was
acting as a world-wide a g e n t-distributor for “Solo,” and had arranged sales to West Germany, Austria, Norway, Switzerland, and Sweden during the Cannes Film Festival. The British Broadcasting Corporation had also offered “a good price” for the film, but before accepting it attempts were being made to arrange a British release through cinemas.
