Hat-trick gives Rangers convincing victory
A hat-trick by Malcolm Parker gave Rangers a convincing 3-0 win over Shamrock in a Broadlands Southern League soccer match on Saturday.
He scored once in the first half, and added two penalties in the second half.
Caversham managed the biggest win of the round when it crushed Technical, 5-0. Fifteen minutes before half-time there was no score. At half-time, Caversham led. 4-0, with goals by Dick Devine, Brian McLaughlin, John Ravenscroft and David Alabaster. Pat Berry scored in the second half.
Western beat Northern Hearts, 2-1, with the goal-scorers being
Adrian Kersten and Des Duffy from the penalty spot. < When Gerald Mathieson scored ( for Hearts near the end it inspired a final effort from Hearts I which provided a tense and ex- j citing finish to the match. In a rather uninspiring match, ’ a goal by Mick Orton in the ’ second half was sufficient to give , Cashmere-Wanderers a 1-0 win over New Brighton.
