United States space scientists have directed the abandoned space station Skylab towards the Sun in another series of manoeuvres aimed at stabilising the 85-ton craft’s orbit and delaying its fiery fall to Earth. If successful in changing Skylab’s orbit over the next two days, scientists at the Johnson Space Centre in Houston will be able to delay re-; entry — now expected as early as next April — by six! to 12 months. — Houston.
