The North Canterbury Hospital Board is still in the dark about the “life support data card” being offered by a North Island firm. The scheme, promoted by a Cambridge-based firm, Health Co-operative Society, advertises “immediate medical information” in emergencies. This information is visible only through microfilm viewers, however, and none of these viewers have been made available to the Christchurch Hospital accident and emergency department, according to its medical superinten-dent-in-chief (Dr L. McH. Berry). “We have heard nothing more from the firm since they held their promotional exercise in Christchurch about two months ago,”
