Torre leads chess
NZPA-Reuter Penang, Malaysia The Filipino grand master, Eugene Torre, took a half-point lead after winning his secondround matches in the fourth leg of the Asian chess circuit yesterday. New Zealand’s Murray Chandler is close behind Following Torre, with 1J points, are two international masters, Chandler and a A. Mascarinas of the Philippines. Chandler and the Iranian international master, Mershad Sharif, decided on a draw after 15 moves, while Mascarinas defeated Malaysia's Jimmy Liew with the Sicilian defence.
