Public Notices RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953 PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Riccarton Borough Council has resolved to initiate further charges to the operative District Scheme under Section 29 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953. CHANGE No. 15: Alteration to Criteria for Future Development in Special Development Area 5. Page 9 of the District Scheme add new clause setting out various classes of applications. (a) Conditional use application where •an amendment of an existing (or the example in this scheme) development plan is required provided (i) criteria (a) to (f) above inclusive are met, (ii) the amendment will not substantially alter the cohesiveness of the development plan. (bi Council will initiate a change at any applicant’s request and expense, where (i) a replacement development plan is sought, (ii) a substantial change to an existing development plan is sought, (ii!) an alteration to any of the criteria (a) to (f) above is sought, (iv) an alteration to the planned size of the Centre is sought. (c) A specified departure where (1) a specific development is sought that is small in size in relation to the Centre, and does not or cannot comply with the example development plan, or any development plan approved as above. Where Council has initiated a planning procedure to facilitate consideration of any plan, or for any other other reason, Council’s position with respect to the proposal under consideration shall not be prejudiced by the fact that Council Initiated proceedings. CHANGE No. 16: Metrication of the District Planning Scheme. Delete all imperial units in the Operative District Planning Scheme and Notified Changes, and substitute their metric equivalents. These metric equivalents are “rounded off” where appropriate. Details of the changes have been deposited at the Riccarton Borough Council Office, 199 Clarence Street in accordance with section 30A (4) (a) (II) of the Town and Country Planning Act and shall be open for inspection without fee to all persons interested therein at any time when the above place is open to the public. Objections to the change or to any part thereof shall be in writing of Form E prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960 and shall be lodged only at the office of the Riccarton Borough Council at any time no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 1978. At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection and any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections after he notifies the Town Clerk In writing within the period of which public notice will be given. .
