game off the powerful Avon-1 side I team in the contest,, t with Mike Warren picking up i the first game against Wayne Adamson. ’ Linwood also recorded its I fourth successive win, beat- < ing Avonside IV, 11-1. Gary ; Saunders suffered Linwood’s 1 only loss. Graham Rhind winning in three games. Ling Nan Ming, the Can- i terbury coach, and Mike ' Hamel', kept up their good i individual records with wins, i Riccarton I had its first win 1 this season when it beat Sei- ' wyn, 8-4. The Hamilton ' player, Linda Jekyl. made an i appearance on her way north . in place of Alan Renwick, land contributed a win over (Graham Lamb, 21-19, 21-12. ! Guy Halliburton had a good night for Riccarton, I winning his three matches, (including a pleasing win over i Neville Brightwell, the hardhitting veteran, 21-18, 21-10. Riccarton II beat Dallington, 7-4, time having run out before the final doubles match could be played. Stephen Adamson had a commendable win over John Armstrong while Denis Kalin would have been very satisfied with his win over Stuart Armstrong.
