Former top boxer dies

Mr Ted Cleverley, who was a prominent North Otago sportsman in the years before and after the Second World War, died in Oamaru at the age of 65. He was a successful heavy-weight boxer, having won Canterbury, Otago and Southland championships. Mr Cleverley also represented North Otago at rugby both before and after his war service, and was selected for Wellington during a brief spell in that province.
